Program Coordinator Role

mułaa // Rising tide Surf Society is an Indigenous run not for profit organization with the purpose of supporting Indigenous youth and people to honour culture, language and wellness through connections with the land and ocean. This is done largely through the act of surfing, but also through connecting to Elders, knowledge holders, professionals - such as counsellors, dietitians, nurses, and family. Mułaa has a spring and fall surf team season, in which youth ages 10+ meet in a Tla-o-qui-aht community once a week to surf and learn about culture, language and wellness. In the summer, the youth experience a two week surf and skate summer camp. In the winter, there is a weekend of skiing and snowboarding at Mount Washington.
The organization also advocates for greater recognition and acknowledgement of Nuu-chah-nulth surf breaks within the tourism and surf industry alongside our partner nations.
